The minimum age for gorilla trekking in Uganda, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo is 15 years. This is because children of that age are mature, physically strong enough for the trek, and less likely to spread infections.

Why Children Below 15 Are Not Allowed

• They may carry communicable diseases that can be transmitted to gorillas.
• They are often playful and may fail to follow trekking rules.
• They are usually not strong enough to manage the trek at high altitudes.
