Booking a 3 days Mgahinga gorilla safari from Kigali is one of the best ways of saving on money and driving time. Day 1: Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
After having breakfast at your hotel in Kigali or arrival at Kigali International Airport on day one of your 3 days Mgahinga gorilla safari from Kigali, you will transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Kisoro.
There’s an optional city tour in Kigali that you can carry out before your transfer or perhaps you can drive straight to Kisoro immediately after pickup. Lunch will be served at your lodge in Mgahinga or in Kigali if you choose to have a city tour before your transfer. When you reach Mgahinga, you will transfer to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking In Mgahinga & Batwa Cultural Encounter
This is probably the best day of your 3 days Mgahinga gorilla safari from Kigali. This is the day you get to meet mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Gorilla trekking in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park takes between 2 to 6 hours depending on how long you take to locate the gorillas.
After meeting the gorillas, you have one hour around them to take photos, short films and bond with them before you can return back to the starting point, pick your respective gorilla trekking certificates and return to your lodge.
In the evening, you will carry out a short Batwa Cultural Experience and learn a few things about this hunger-gathering tribe that has managed to survive in wild forests and thick mountains for centuries. After this experience, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking & Departure
This day you carry out another exciting experience. You get to meet the only golden monkeys in Uganda. Golden Monkey trekking takes a shorter time and is quite easy compared to gorilla trekking.
After golden monkey trekking, you will transfer back to Kigali where you will be transferred to an accommodation facility of your choice or the airport to catch up with your flight back home. This marks the end of your 3 days Mgahinga gorilla safari from Kigali.
