GORILLA TREKKING IN FEBRUARY

The warm conditions continue to govern even in the month of February with little or no rain a factor that benefits the tourists plus the tourism sectors but it is a rock to the wild species. By this month all the savannah grass has already dried leaving an open land that makes nature walk, gorilla trekking and game drives easy as all hiding places of some of these species is wiped away , tourists will encounter dusty dry trails swamped with all kinds of wild species and in order to spot a variety just as in Masai Mara national park during the trek you are advised to visit water sources where most of them get water from or even areas that still holds some vegetation.

February brings countless adventures right at the table of every tourist but it is intensely filled with a variety of tourists who come to embrace the dry conditions of this month and nature , prices scoop to the top margin causing most of the tourists to forego the luxury budget and opt for midrange or even humble budgets. Permits allowing trekkers to take part in either  gorilla trekking or  chimpanzees tracking are limited to a given number and once all places are sold out the gates will be closed implying that you have to book months earlier before setting off for your safari , this is done to create a stress free environment for these species in their habitats and in order to spend more time with the gorillas there is an habituation activity that is done by researchers , game rangers and other park officials done to make the gorillas get used to human presence .Note that the gorillas are sensitive to noise a factor that calls for visitors to avoid gadgets that produce a lot of sound or splash out bright light , communicating to these species is forbidden because despite allegations that the gorillas are our cousins  it does not mean we speak the same language as you may mimic attack me instead of saying hi and besides that avoid roaming into the jungle without the guidance of any park guide . The jungle is full of carnivorous , herbivorous and other dangerous species that only the guides can control or protect you from and if caught you will have to face a huge penalty .Africa boasts about their numerous population of these species especially in Uganda , Rwanda , Democratic of Congo to mention but a few evidenced mostly in rainforests highly depending on fruits but during times of scarcity like February they  resort to eating roots , leaves , flowers and insects.
