Detailed 5-Day Bwindi Gorillas & Bisoke Climbing Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After an early breakfast at your hotel or on arrival at the airport, your guide will transfer you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You may take a short city tour before leaving or drive straight to Bwindi with lunch on the way. On arrival, check into your lodge, have dinner, and rest.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking & Batwa Community Walk
After breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a short briefing about gorilla trekking rules. You will then enter the forest with your ranger guide to search for the gorillas. Once you find them, spend one full hour watching them feed, play, and move around.
After the trek, return to the starting point, receive your trekking certificate, and drive back to your lodge. In the evening, go for a community walk around Bwindi before dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Lake Mutanda Boat Ride, Transfer to Volcanoes National Park & Visit Twin Lakes
After breakfast, drive to Lake Mutanda in Kisoro and take a boat ride to explore some of its islands. Later, continue the drive to Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. In the evening, visit the Twin Lakes of Burera and Ruhondo before checking into your lodge for dinner and overnight. Prepare for the Bisoke hike the next day.
Day 4: Mount Bisoke Hiking
After an early breakfast, set out to hike Mount Bisoke, one of the Virunga Volcanoes. The climb is moderate in difficulty and usually takes about six hours for both ascent and descent. At the top, you will see the crater lake before returning down the mountain. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 5: Golden Monkey Trekking & Departure
After breakfast, go for golden monkey trekking in Volcanoes National Park. Later, drive back to Kigali, marking the end of your 5 Days Bwindi and Bisoke Hiking Safari.
