Discover the wildlife of Uganda and Tanzania in just seven days with this 7-Day Bwindi gorilla trekking & Serengeti wildlife safari. The first three days are spent in Uganda trekking the mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and enjoying the country’s nature, people, and scenery.
The last four days are in Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, where you explore the plains and admire the great migration along with other wildlife. Serengeti is also home to birds, smaller mammals, and predators.

Detailed 7-Day Bwindi Gorillas & Serengeti Wildlife Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe Airport
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport, Uganda’s main entry point. You will be welcomed by your safari guide who will brief you about the trip and transfer you to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Depending on your arrival time, you may also take a short tour of either Entebbe or Kampala to see historical buildings, museums, and monuments.
Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, travel southwest towards Bwindi. Stop at the Equator in Kayabwe for photos and the water experiment. Continue past Ankole’s pastoral lands, where you may see long-horned cattle and sometimes zebras or impalas from nearby Lake Mburo National Park.
Stop at Igongo Cultural Hotel for lunch and, if time allows, a visit to the onsite museum. Arrive at Bwindi in the evening, check in at your lodge, have dinner, and rest.
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking & Batwa Community Tour
After breakfast, assemble at the park headquarters for briefing and gorilla family allocation. Begin your trek through the forest to search for the gorillas. The trek may take 1–8 hours, including one hour with the gorillas once found.
Watch them feed, interact, and move under the leadership of the silverback. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch. In the evening, you may visit the Batwa community to learn about their culture, music, and history.
Day 4: Transfer to Serengeti via Kigali Airport
After a relaxed breakfast, drive from Bwindi to Kigali and transfer to the airport for your flight to Arusha, Tanzania.
Day 5: Drive from Arusha to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, begin the drive to Serengeti National Park. Though the journey is long, you will see beautiful countryside views along the way. On arrival, you will understand why Serengeti means “endless plains.” Covering about 18,000 sq. km, the park is home to the great migration, where millions of wildebeest, zebras, and antelopes move across the plains, along with predators such as lions and cheetahs.
Day 6: Full-Day Game Drive in Serengeti
Spend the day on game drives in Serengeti. The park is rich with buffaloes, elephants, hippos, crocodiles, impalas, and large migrating herds. You may also see lions, leopards, cheetahs, and hyenas. Wildlife movements depend on the season and rainfall, but Serengeti offers rewarding game drives throughout the year. After a full day of exploration, return to your lodge or tented camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Departure through Kilimanjaro Airport
After breakfast, drive through Karatu and farmlands before transferring to Kilimanjaro Airport for your departure flight. This marks the end of your 7-Day Bwindi gorilla trekking & Serengeti wildlife safari.
