The rainy season has two session that is to say the short rainy months that favour gorilla trekking and other park activities because rain does not pour forever a factor that allows the sun to still shine thus drying the trails but on another hand long rainy months makes trails very boggy and slippery hindering the gorilla trekking activities requiring one to stay in the booked accommodation, in most cases it may rain from morning to night time that is why it advisable to book wisely and if you can ignore the rains and the cold conditions you can still dive into the bush with the help of a tour guide but make sure to pack a first aid kit to help you with any injuries or emergencies then this can be followed by hiking boats that will enable you walk within the Mud without fearing to be splashed by mud and without a rain coat you may end up wetting all your clothes that is why it is advisable to pack it , do not forget to pack a torch as it may get dark in some part of the bush due to the weather , pack some snacks that will give more energy to continue moving. Gorillas are easily to trace in the rainy months compared to the dry months as they settle in one place due to food abundance while in dry season they scatter all over in the bush making trekkers spend more hours in the bush searching for them but with the help of an experienced guide you will come across numerous habituated families in Bwindi , Mgahinga , Virunga and the volcanoes national parks .
