Detailed 3-Day Gorillas & Lake Kivu Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Goma in Congo
On the first day of your 3-day Virunga gorillas & beach tour, you will be picked up early in the morning and driven to Goma Town in DRC. You will cross the Gisenyi–Goma border and continue to your accommodation in Goma, about 30 minutes from the border.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Virunga & Transfer to Gisenyi
Early in the morning, you will be driven to the park headquarters for a briefing before heading into the forest to trek your allocated gorilla family. The trek may take up to six hours, including one hour spent with the gorillas.
After trekking, you will return to the starting point, receive your gorilla trekking certificate, and cross back to Rwanda. The rest of the evening will be spent relaxing at the Gisenyi beaches before heading to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Morning Boat Cruise & Departure
After breakfast, you will go for a morning boat cruise on Lake Kivu. Depending on time, you may visit one or more islands. Later, you will transfer to Kigali City, marking the end of your 3-day Virunga gorillas & beach tour.
