A 3-day gorilla habituation tour from Kigali is a special way to spend more time with mountain gorillas. Unlike the normal gorilla trek that allows only one hour, gorilla habituation gives you up to four hours with these amazing primates.

Detailed 3-Day Bwindi Gorilla Habituation Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast at your hotel in Kigali, or soon after arriving at Kigali International Airport, our guide will meet you. You will receive a short briefing before driving to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda.
You may choose to take a short Kigali city tour before leaving, or drive directly to Bwindi. If you drive straight, you will stop for lunch on the way in Kisoro or Kabale. If you take the Kigali city tour, you will have lunch in Kigali. On arrival in the Rushaga sector of Bwindi, you will head to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla Habituation in Bwindi
This is the day you take part in gorilla habituation. The activity happens only in the Rushaga sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and nowhere else in the world. The permit costs $1500, higher than the normal trekking permit of $8700, but it gives you more time with the gorillas.
You will spend up to four hours with the gorillas, guided by researchers and rangers. It is a full-day adventure that gives you a deep understanding of gorilla behavior. After the activity, you will receive a habituation certificate and return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Kigali
On this day, you will return to Kigali for your departure flight. If time allows, you may enjoy a morning nature walk in Bwindi or take a boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi before heading back to Kigali.
