Detailed 3-Day Bwindi Gorilla Trekking Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast at your hotel in Kigali or on arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be met by our tour guide to begin your safari. You may choose to take an optional Kigali city tour, visiting sites such as Kimironko Market, Caplaki Crafts Village, or the Kigali Genocide Memorial, before heading to Bwindi. Alternatively, you may start the drive straight away.
The drive to Bwindi takes about 4 hours, including time at the border. On arrival in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, you will check in to your lodge and have dinner.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi & Community Walk
After an early breakfast, you will go to the park headquarters for a briefing before starting your trek into the forest. Gorilla trekking can take between 2 and 8 hours depending on the location of the gorillas, so you need to be prepared.
If you prefer, you can request an easier trek with a shorter distance. Once you find the gorillas, you will spend one full hour with them, observing their behavior and taking photos.
After the trek, you will return to the starting point, receive your gorilla trekking certificate, and head back to your lodge. In the evening, you may choose to take an optional community walk to visit nearby villages.
Day 3: Transfer Back to Kigali & Departure
In the morning, you can relax at your lodge and enjoy views of the forest. You may also choose an optional sunrise boat cruise on Lake Bunyonyi before beginning your journey back to Kigali.
After lunch, you will be transferred either to your hotel or to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight.
