Detailed 3-Day Rwanda Gorilla Trekking & Golden Monkey Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park Rwanda
Your 3-day Rwanda gorillas & golden monkey tour begins with a pickup from Kigali International Airport or your hotel in Kigali. You will meet your guide in the morning and transfer to Volcanoes National Park in the northern province of Rwanda.
The drive to the park takes about two hours. Depending on your arrival or pickup time, you may also take a short Kigali city tour before the transfer. On arrival, check in at your lodge and relax as you prepare for the next day’s adventure.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking & Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village Visit
After an early breakfast, your driver will take you to the park headquarters for a briefing. You will then begin your gorilla trek in the Virunga Mountains.
The trek can last from 2 to 8 hours depending on the location of the gorilla family. Once you find them, you will spend one hour observing their behavior and taking photos. After the trek, you will receive a gorilla trekking certificate and return to your lodge for lunch.
In the evening, visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village to learn about Rwandan traditions, music, and dance. Later, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking & Departure
On the final day, you will go for golden monkey trekking in the forest. The activity usually takes 2 to 3 hours and is a rewarding experience. After the trek, return to your lodge to freshen up before driving back to Kigali.
You will be dropped off at Kigali International Airport or at a location of your choice, marking the end of your 3-day Rwanda gorillas and golden monkey tour.
