Detailed 7-Day Bwindi Gorilla Trekking & Masai Mara Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival & Hotel Transfer
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport for your safari. You will be welcomed by your safari guide, who will introduce the itinerary and answer questions. You will then transfer to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Entebbe or Kampala to Bwindi National Park
After breakfast, start your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Stop at the Equator in Kayabwe for photos before continuing through the Ankole region, known for its long-horned cattle.
Have lunch at Igongo Cultural Centre, then drive another 4–5 hours to Bwindi. Arrive in the evening, check into your lodge, relax by the campfire, and stay overnight.
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking & Batwa Cultural Visit
After breakfast, go to the park headquarters for a briefing before trekking the gorillas. Bwindi is home to over 500 mountain gorillas. The trek can take 2–8 hours depending on the location of the gorilla family.
Once you find them, you will spend one hour watching them as they feed, play, and interact. Return to the lodge for lunch and rest. In the evening, visit the Batwa community to learn about their culture, then return for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Transfer to Entebbe & Fly to Nairobi
After breakfast, drive about seven hours back to Entebbe. Stop at Igongo Country Hotel for lunch and at the Equator for photos and souvenirs. Continue to the airport for your flight to Nairobi. On arrival, meet your Kenyan guide and transfer to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Drive to Masai Mara National Reserve
Depart Nairobi in the morning for Masai Mara. Pass through the Great Rift Valley with scenic views, continue past Narok town, and arrive at the reserve by afternoon.
On the way, you may see wildlife along the roadside. Check into your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Full-Day Game Drive in Masai Mara
Spend the day on game drives in Masai Mara. The park is home to elephants, lions, buffaloes, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, rhinos, zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, and many more animals.
Enjoy picnic lunch in the reserve before continuing the game drive. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Return to Nairobi
Take an early morning game drive to explore areas you may have missed the previous day. Return for lunch, then drive back to Nairobi. In the evening, enjoy dinner at the Carnivore Restaurant before being dropped at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight home.
