This 2 days Bwindi gorilla safari starts and ends in Kigali, Rwanda. You get to trek mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda, one of the country’s most popular national parks. This tour has an optional Kigali City tour and boat activity in Lake Bunyonyi. If you intend to engage in these extra activities, please endeavor to request for it at the time of inquiry.
Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After an early morning breakfast meal at your hotel in Kigali Rwanda or morning airport arrival on this first day of your 2 days Bwindi gorilla safari, you will meet your tour guide and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda.
Depending on your arrival time or the time you begin this safari, there is an option of exploring some of the great attractions in Kigali City like the Kigali Genocide Memorial Monument, Caplaki Crafts Village and Kimironko Market among other places. After this short city tour, you will begin on your 4 hours’ drive to Rushaga, Ruhija or Nkuringo Sectors of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
If you decide to take on a city tour, you will have your lunch from Kigali but if you opt for a direct transfer, you will have your lunch in Lake Bunyonyi and carry out a short boat ride to some of the 29 islands on the lake before driving to your mountain gorilla trekking sector. When you reach Bwindi, you will check in to your lodge and rest as you get prepared for your gorilla trekking encounter the following day.
Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi & Departure
Early morning after breakfast at your gorilla lodge on this second day of your 2 days Bwindi gorilla safari, you will transfer to the park headquarters for s briefing session and gorilla allocation process and after start your trek to the forest to search for your particular mountain gorilla family. Gorilla trekking may last up to 6 hours depending on how long you take to locate your particular gorilla group.
This time includes a 1 hour experience with these apes. After, you shall return to the starting point, pick your respective gorilla trekking certificates and transfer back to Kigali where you will be dropped at an accommodation facility of your choice or the airport to catch your departure flight.
