2 Days Mount Karisimbi Hike

Mount Karisimbi is one of the eight Virunga Volcano Mountains. It is the highest of all the mountains hence, quite strenuous to hike especially to inexperienced hikers. This 2 days Karisimbi hiking safari takes you to Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda to hike Karisimbi Mountain.

Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park Rwanda & Ascend Karisimbi

This tour requires a very early morning pickup. You will depart your hotel in Kigali at exactly 5:00 am since the hike starts at 7:00 am with a briefing session at the headquarters of Volcanoes National Park. Your tour guide will pick you from your accommodation place and transfer to Volcanoes National Park in Musanze.

You will go through a briefing and registration process before you meet other hikers and begin your hike up Mountain Karisimbi. The hiking group will move at the pace of the slowest trekker. You will not reach the summit on this day but will camp on the mountain at a designated camping ground. Dinner and overnight will be served at a camping group atop the mountain.

Day 2: Descend Karisimbi Mountain & Departure

This day you’ll wake up to a tasty early morning breakfast at your camping place. Here, you’ll be able to see some other Virunga Volcano Mountains. The view from here is very beautiful and you’ll definitely love it.

After you will climax your hike by ascending to the peak of the mountain and descend back to the starting point where you’ll find your tour guide waiting to transfer you to Kigali.  You will either be dropped at an accommodation facility of your choice or the airport to catch up with your departure flight.
