Travellers will fly from Entebbe international Air port or kajjansi air field and land at either kisoro or kihihi air strips .

Flights from Entebbe or kajjansi are both scheduled or chartered and tourists are available both in the morning and in the afternoon .

Flights to Bwindi usually take 1 hour and half and afterwards tourists will drive for about 1 to 2 hours to the national park .

Some of the domestic airlines that handle flights to Bwindi impenetrable national park are Aero link and Fly Uganda.

About Bwindi impenetrable national park

Bwindi impenetrable national park is a home of the endangered mountain gorillas about 400 individuals habited in the four sectors of the park ir Buhoma , Nkuringo , Rushaga and Ruhija.

Bwindi is found in south western Uganda on the border of Uganda and Democratic Republic of Congo and on the edge of the Albertine rift .

The park covers an area of about 321 sq km with lowland and montane forests acting as natural habitats of over 120 mammal species such as African elephants , bush pigs , black fronted duikers among others and 350 bird species such as black bee eater , mountain oriole , black billed turaco , Regal sun bird , handsome spurfowl , Bushshrinke , brown capped weaver.

The National park is governed by Uganda wildlife authority a body in charge of national parks in Uganda .

The park was established in 1991 as ahome of gorillas and 1lin 1994 was established as a UNESCO world heritage site .

The National park experiences tropical type of climate characterized by heavy rainfall of about 1500 to 1900mm per annum and temperature range from 7 to 15°C minimum and 20 to 27 °C maximum .

The park is located at an elevation of over 2000m to 4300m on the kigezi highlands.
