Rwanda Gorilla Trekking & Zanzibar Beach Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and hotel transfer
Pick up from the airport on arrival by the driver guide on this first day of your 7 Days Rwanda Gorillas & Zanzibar Safari. He will briefly takes you through the trip movements as he transfers you to the hotel in Kigali where you will spend your night in preparation for the next day.
Day 2: Drive to Volcanoes National Park & Gorilla Guardians Village tour
Early morning after breakfast on this second day of your 7 Days Rwanda Gorillas & Zanzibar Safari, start the journey to Volcanoes national park. It’s roughly a two hour drive filled with sights of the beautiful landscape as you drive through the rolling thousand hills of Rwanda. Drive at your pace and having several stopovers. Arrival is in the afternoon for lunch and visiting the Gorilla Guardians Village in the evening. The center almost exhibits everything that is Kinyarwanda, all the ethnic groups, the Twa, Hutu and the Tutsi. It’s an evening worth spending.
Day 3: Gorilla trekking in PNV
Today wake up very early in the morning, have breakfast and head to the park station for a simple briefing about gorilla trekking from the local ranger guide. After going through the rules and regulations of trekking the gorillas in the forest, be divided into groups of eight trekkers to visit a single gorilla family in a day.
Enter into the forest and start the search for the mountain gorillas in the forest. Spend one hour with these mighty apes on meeting them, watching them as they normally carry on their lives. The best sights are ones when trekkers look directly into the red eyes of the silverbacks. When the one hour elapses, descend back to the headquarters and to the lodge for lunch, relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Fly to Zanzibar
After a delicious breakfast at the lodge on this day of your 7 Days Rwanda Gorillas & Zanzibar Safari, drive back to Kigali capital for your flight to Zanzibar in Tanzania. Zanzibar is one of the famous destinations in Africa because of its white sand beaches and an outstanding beauty. Arrival is in the afternoon for lunch and just beach relaxation.
Day 5: Guided stone tour
After breakfast on day 5 of your 7 Days Rwanda Gorillas & Zanzibar Safari, have a guided stone town tour. Walk through the fabled Historical town to witness the History that is still standing. The stone town tour is a full day trip taking you to the House of Wonders, the Palace Museum also called People’s palace, and the Arab Fort.
After lunch you will then visit the Cathedral, mosques and the Zanzibar market for souvenirs. Return to the lodge in the evening, dinner and a night stay on a resort overlooking either the beach or ocean.
Day 6: Dolphin trip
Early morning after breakfast and have a Dolphin trip. Visit Kizimkazi fishing village to spot schools of bottle nosed dolphins and Humpback dolphins. Tourists enjoy sights of dolphins while on short boat trips from the village, some lucky travelers even get the chance to swim very close to the dolphins, a rewarding experience that cannot easily be attained. In the afternoon after lunch, you will just have a beach relaxation as you wait to travel back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Departure
Have an early breakfast on this day of your 7 Days Rwanda Gorillas & Zanzibar Safari, check out of the lodge and drive to the airport for the departure flight.
