Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After arrival or overnight in Kigali for this 5 days Uganda Rwanda gorilla trek, Rwanda, our tour guide will meet you and transfer you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. If you wish to have a Kigali City tour, you will do that before you depart for Bwindi. When you reach Bwindi, you will check in to your lodge, have dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Bwindi Gorilla Trekking Experience
This is one of the most interesting day of your 5 days Uganda Rwanda gorilla trek. Have breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters for briefing and gorilla allocation process before making your way into the impenetrable forest in search for mountain gorillas.
Gorilla trekking may last up to eight hours on a bad day. This time includes a one hour experience with the gorillas. After, you shall return to the starting point, get your respective gorilla trekking certificates and drive back to your lodge.
Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park & Visit Twin Lakes
This day of your 5 days Uganda Rwanda gorilla trek when you transfer to Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. This is the only national park in Rwanda where you can trek gorillas from.
The gorilla trekking experience here is way different from the one in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park as you get to trek mountain gorillas on the foothills of mountains instead. When you reach Volcanoes National Park, you will check in to your lodge and rest. In the evening, you will go for a twin lakes tour in Musanze.
Day 4: Rwanda Gorilla Trekking & Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village Visit
This is the day of your 5 days Uganda Rwanda gorilla trek when you trek Rwanda gorillas in the Virunga Conservation Area. Gorilla trekking in Rwanda is much easier compared to Uganda. The scenery in Volcanoes National Park is also quite rewarding too.
After meeting gorillas, you shall return to the park headquarters in Kinigi, pick your gorilla trekking certificates and drive back to your lodge. In the evening, you will visit Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village for a Rwanda culture experience.
Day 5: Departure
You will spend your entire morning relaxing at your lodge on this last day of your 5 days Uganda Rwanda gorilla trek. After lunch, you will drive back to Kigali from where you will catch your departure flight from or be dropped at a preferred place as requested. This marks the end of your 5 days Uganda Rwanda gorilla trek.
